Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening | Beverly Thurmond, DDS, PLLC | Raleigh DentistToday's teeth whitening treatments are so easy, convenient and affordable that they've become a regular part of everyone's beauty routine. If you haven't tried one yet, you'll be happy to know that you have plenty of choices. For the fastest, most dramatic results, consider laser teeth whitening. Laser teeth whitening treatments take just an hour and can whiten teeth up to 10 shades. If you're the do-it-yourself type, an at-home teeth whitening kit might be right for you. These professional grade teeth whitening kits produce excellent results over a longer period of time. They can be purchased from your dentist or over-the-counter, but for best results, it's recommended that you always consult with a dentist before trying any over-the-counter teeth whitening system.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers | Beverly Thurmond, DDS, PLLC | Raleigh DentistPorcelain dental veneers are a beautiful way to correct stained, chipped, or uneven teeth.

Reasons for porcelain veneers:

  • Cosmetically, to create a uniform, white, beautiful smile
  • Crooked teeth or misshapen teeth
  • Severely discolored or stained teeth
  • Teeth that are too small or large
  • Unwanted or uneven spaces (see composite bonding)
  • Worn or chipped teeth

What happens during the procedure?

  • Requires two visits with little or no anesthesia required during the procedure.
  • Teeth surface is buffed and shaped to allow for the thickness of the veneer.
  • An impression of the teeth is taken and a shade or color will then be chosen by you and Dr. Thurmond
  • At the second visit, bonding cement is then placed between the tooth and veneer and a special blue light is used to set the cement.
